Great fishing forum, Check it out.
I have been a part of many fishing and Fly fishing forums over the years. There have been some that were not worth being part of and others that were, and still are good.
The ones I find worth checking out are:
Fishing with Rod, Screaming reals, Washington state, and for great overseas information FlyUK
Out of respect, I will NOT mention the ones I stay away from, you can find out for yourself if you like them or not if you go to them.
For overall information on fly fishing, and the quality of people on the site, one stands out above the others. The site I am referring to is called FlyBC. The site has many different sections, from general Fly fishing information to Fly tying to one of the best sections i have ever seen on a forum.
The section that I speak of is the “Ask the pro’s” section. In this section of the FlyBC site you can ask any question you want about flyfishing and one of the resident “Pro’s” will give you an answer. The pro’s in this section are not your ordinary fishermen. They are the “Guru’s” of Fly fishing in BC. They are Brian Chan and Phil Rowley.
If you are not familiar with these two men I encourage you to read up on them.
Brian is a Expert Flyfisher as well as being a master Entomologist. He is heavily involved in the stoking programs throughout BC and is in my opinion one of the best stillwater fly fishers in the world.
Phil Rowley is also a master flyfisher, but his Fly Tying skills are second to none. Some of the flies that Phil has developed are known and used around the globe.
back to the forum, the people on the forum are very informative and are always willing to share the vast amount of knowledge that they have as a group. If one person does not have the answer, ten others will.
This forum is not only online, there are Fly Tying nights that are held around the province, group fish-in’s every year (spring & Fall), holiday lunch in’s online auctions, and Much Much more. The last fish-in attracted 100 members and was a BLAST.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU CHECK THE SITE OUT.
